And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. Mark 1:35
The Hermitage on Goehring Road has a simple mission: a place to retreat from the hustle and bustle of life to find a quiet and solitary place to pray and commune quietly with the Lord for a while. Like the Lord did in Mark 1:35. But like the Lord, plan to stay for a while. A little while. Not forever. By Mark 1:36, people were looking for Jesus, and he was already traveling and preaching all over Galilee by verse 39. The Lord needed time and space, and we do, too. The Lord had a mission that He fulfilled, and we should fulfill our missions, too.
At The Hermitage on Goehring Road, we fulfill our mission by providing a small prayer chapel, a small private hermitage, and a small space to breathe and pray. We will add a prayer labyrinth–the Cross Labyrinth–with a small path to the foot of the cross. Everything we do is small. To help you prepare.
So breathe and pray. Breath for your body. Prayer for your soul. Take care of these things so that you can be rested and prepared for your mission. When you are ready, then whatever mission the Lord has called you to, rise up, go out, find your solitary place, and pray.
God bless you,
The Hermitage on Goehring Road
