The Hermitage on Goehring Road is a retreat for Christian spiritual formation set in the foothills of Texas hill country. It’s different from most other retreats because it has a very narrow, singular focus.  It is not on us.  It is not even on you.  It is on God.  The first building to break ground will be the chapel.  That is not by accident.  It is just as intentional as the first sentence of the first verse of the first chapter in the first book of the Bible: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”  No one was mentioned except for God. That is how it was way back then.  And that is how it should be to this good day.
